With more than 20 years of experience spanning military service, corrections, federal law enforcement, and government security contracting, Nicholas Bentley brings a practical, experience-driven approach to security consulting and program management.
Throughout his career, Nicholas has progressed from frontline security operations into senior leadership positions, gaining firsthand experience in protecting personnel, managing risk, maintaining readiness, and implementing effective security programs.
His background includes leading security teams, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, managing security infrastructure projects, developing operational procedures, coordinating with government stakeholders, and overseeing complex security operations.
His professional approach is grounded in a simple belief: effective security requires strong leadership, clear responsibilities, sound decisions, and procedures that work in real-world conditions.
Military Service and Leadership Foundation
Nicholas began his career in the United States Army as an infantryman and noncommissioned officer. As an infantry squad leader, he held responsibility for personnel leadership, mission planning, operational readiness, training, and accountability during domestic and overseas operations, including combat environments.
His service established leadership principles that remain central to his work today: lead by example, prepare people for difficult situations, hold teams accountable, and recognize that disciplined execution depends on trust and teamwork.
Corrections and Specialized Security Operations
Following military service, Nicholas worked with the Kansas Department of Corrections on a specialized security team responsible for high-risk operations and institutional security.
His responsibilities included managing high-risk individuals, conducting secure transports to off-site locations, supporting specialized security operations, and responding to critical incidents. He also participated in specialized emergency responses and provided instruction in security procedures and less-lethal response techniques.
That experience strengthened his understanding of risk, personnel readiness, and the importance of clear procedures in demanding security environments.
Federal Law Enforcement Experience
Nicholas subsequently served in federal law enforcement as a police officer and Patrol Leader. His responsibilities included supervising patrol personnel, coordinating law enforcement activities, conducting investigations, responding to emergencies, and maintaining operational accountability.
He also served on a specialized emergency response team, supporting operations that required advanced preparation, close coordination, and effective decisions under pressure. His federal law enforcement experience reinforced the value of incident command, interagency cooperation, sound judgment, and professional accountability.
Government Security Contracting and Program Leadership
With more than 15 years of experience supporting U.S. government security operations through private-sector contracting, Nicholas has developed extensive experience in physical security, organizational leadership, program management, and operational improvement.
He advanced from frontline security operations into team leadership and ultimately the role of Chief of Security. In senior positions, he has overseen security operations, led and developed teams, conducted assessments, evaluated security requirements, and worked with government representatives, contractors, and organizational leadership.
Security Infrastructure and Project Management
Nicholas has supported major security infrastructure initiatives involving access control, surveillance systems, intrusion detection, protective measures, and secure facilities. His work has included developing project requirements and scopes of work, reviewing technical proposals, coordinating vendors and subcontractors, monitoring progress, and evaluating completed work against operational needs.
Because he has worked directly with the systems and personnel those projects support, he emphasizes solutions that are practical, sustainable, and appropriate for the operating environment.
Security Program Development and Standardization
Nicholas has led efforts to develop and standardize security operating procedures across multiple operational locations. These initiatives have aimed to create consistent expectations, clearer responsibilities, and stronger accountability.
He has also improved personnel evaluation processes, refined emergency response procedures, developed operational guidance, and helped implement corrective actions following assessments and operational reviews. His emphasis is on translating requirements into procedures that people can understand and apply.
Operational Leadership and Incident Management
His leadership experience includes directing security personnel during critical incidents, coordinating emergency responses, overseeing investigations, conducting operational reviews, and incorporating lessons learned into improved procedures.
His progression from frontline operations to senior leadership provides a perspective on security programs from both the field and management levels, helping bridge organizational objectives, security requirements, contractors, and the personnel responsible for putting plans into practice.
Education and Commitment to Continued Learning
Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science in Security Management from Southwestern College, with undergraduate certificates in Cybercrime Investigation and Emergency Management and Business Continuity. He also holds an Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Butler Community College.
He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management at Southwestern College, continuing to strengthen his knowledge of organizational leadership, management, and operational improvement.

Nicholas established Dynamic Security Solutions LLC to help organizations strengthen security programs through practical experience, effective planning, and sound management principles.
He has seen how security programs can struggle when procedures are outdated, responsibilities are unclear, or controls do not reflect real operations. He has also seen how well-structured assessments, coordinated projects, and practical procedures can improve readiness.
DSS was built to help clients identify vulnerabilities, evaluate existing practices, improve procedures, and develop programs suited to their specific requirements, without unnecessary complexity.
